I have practiced yoga since 2014 and I became a certified yoga instructor in 2021. I know first hand the power of yoga on the mental and emotional well-being of students. I have utilized yoga and meditation in the individual and group session that I conduct at schools. The students really enjoy the movements of yoga and how it can be used to remain calm and centered during times of duress. Having mats and blocks will allow the students to fully express themselves via yoga. The students are more able to recognize the physical aspects of trauma in their bodies and yoga demonstrates ways to release that trauma. The students can utilize these skills at school as well as at home. Hopefully, integrating the teachings of yoga into most aspects of their lives to make the world a better, kinder place for all. Snacks are vital to group sessions because some students may not have enough to eat at home.
