The launch monitor provided to our students will allow them to gain control of their distance accuracy and bridge the technological gap between them and more affluent schools. The monitor will give our golfers a clear depiction of how variables such as spin, velocity, and launch angle affect golf ball distance. These lessons are the real-world application of the same principles I give my physics students. This co-curricular component for this proposal is fundamental to its importance. Above all else, golf is a game of accuracy and precision. None of those are possible without a standard of measurement. Our goal is to provide those data points through this launch monitor. By donating this technology, our students will understand how different variables influence their distance accuracy. Increasing proficiency in their golf game will lead to more enthusiasm and a more enjoyable experience on the course. As coaches, our goal is to help kids connect to prepare our kids for challenges in the real world. This technology will allow our students to become more equipped to handle those challenges.
