Reluctant readers are more willing to engage in a project if they have a choice in what they read. These books will help my students have a choice in their learning as we explore the topic of Dystopian Societies. They will be able to pick the books that most interest them in their search to compare and analyze the difference between novels as well as the author's views on the world from 70 years ago, 40 years ago and even 10 years ago. We will look critically at how the books are written, how the settings are created and how the characters over come difficult times. Learning how characters overcome difficulties can help inspire students to see that they can overcome their own difficulties and become a better version of themselves.
