Daily practice of phonics skills is absolutely necessary for students learning to read. Over the past couple years, students have had to be away from school for varying lengths of time due to personal or immediate family illness. Even with the best intentions students have sometimes missed key skills needed to help them learn to read. Students need one-to-one practice. Phonics and reading skills can be ingrained using games and fun activities with a teacher and/or friend(s). Each skill students learn and practice brings them closer to becoming fluent readers!
