These hands on manipulatives will allow my students the opportunity to see these math and literacy standards in a different way. Each student has their own way in connecting with what is being taught to them. I want to provide my students with differentiated instruction to meet their diverse needs when mastering these concepts. These students are behind and have not been able to master these concepts given the instruction they've been provided. My goal is for these manipulatives to give them a different opportunity to understand the concepts being taught. Some students learn more effectively by the use of their hands. For example, the base ten blocks will allow students to break apart a number when learning how to borrow or carry. These manipulatives can give them the visual and manipulation they may need to understand the concept.
