Helping children focus on their learning requires more than a teacher's magical touch. Appealing, hands-on, challenging work must be part of the equation, along with needed supplies to aid in that work. As my students work together, and individually, they will use the requested materials to personally follow along with lessons, effectively share their responses, and reinforce the concepts they have learned. Durable headphones are a must with our daily use of Chromebooks. They will be valuable and needed to help students focus on their individual screens, without distraction from classroom noise or neighbors working nearby. Whiteboards will be used daily for students to easily show and share their work. I will be able to quickly assess understanding by seeing my students' responses on the boards as they share and show them. By physically writing their answers, they will internalize learning and be engaged in the lesson as they participate. The class timer will help keep our class focused as well, encouraging immediate and concentrated attention during specified times. Finally, books that may be read in small group settings will also help my students to stay focused while reading several pages in one sitting. By donating to my project, you will improve my students' attention, participation and focus, which will ultimately increase their academic achievement and prepare them for the future. Thank you!
