Teaching Immersion classes can be a real challenge when it comes to supplies. I teach 2 different classes, 54 students in a daily basis. To keep them engaged in learning the content in a different language requires great lessons, engaging projects, and a class well equipped with the basic furniture and supplies that will support my teaching. This funding will help my class with 2 specific projects: a reading intervention center and two science/steam projects. The donations I am requesting are going to be very helpful to put together a reading intervention center for students that are struggling with reading (stools, carpet, colorful pen, a good sharpener, headphones, sitting cushions, etc). Also, in 5th grade Science, they learn about ecosystems and the changing of matter inside of an ecosystem, and how everything depends on each other. The aquaponics and the plant growing light will give them first-hand experience on how those things happen in real life on a small scale. Keeping students motivated through their own learning has always been my goal, and these supplies will definitely play a significant role in this goal. As teachers, we have limited funding and this will give the students new opportunities. I am very excited and grateful to be part of Donors Choose.
