Students wait anxiously to reach 5th grade where they are finally taught Ukulele in music class! So many of them look forward to this for years and can't wait to learn to strum and sing along to those island sounds! Having an Ukulele lending library where students can check out an Ukulele to take home and practice for a night or up to a week at a time will give them the much needed time to perfect what they learn in class. A time when they can learn at their own pace, in a quiet environment where they can hear how they sound without the sensory overload of an entire class playing at the same time. An opportunity to show their parents their talent and dedication to learning an instrument, hopefully inspiring families to support and encourage their pursuits in music.
