So many of our students' future jobs are going to be related to the fields of STEM. The right materials are needed to create a space where students can develop skills. By introducing students to these disciplines at an early age, more kids are likely to become interested and pursue STEM in the future. A MakerSpace is a great way to get kids playing with materials and figuring out ways to solve problems. The students will use the materials to fulfill the SEEd standards in Utah's science core. Engineering and problem solving have been added to our science standards to better build these skills in students from a young age. By giving them circuit boards, building materials, coding robots, and more, the students will have the opportunity to show their scientific knowledge in ways other than just writing about it on a piece of paper.
