Because of COVID my students have struggled with reading. They are behind grade level and some are still decoding simple words. I want to prepare engaging lessons and activities that will actually help my students. I know worksheets don't work, and that hands-on activities is a more effective way to teach. Along with language arts I want to help my students be more mindful in their everyday lives. I will create small 5-10 minute lessons that my grade can do to help these students start to feel good about them and school. We know that in order to be a successful learner we have needs that have to be met first. When we feel good about ourselves we do good things in school. My kids know that my classroom is a safe space to be themselves. I want to continue helping them academically and emotionally.
