First graders learn about how living things grow and change, our community, and many other important communication and critical thinking skills. With these items, we can access our community garden, care for and grow plants that benefit the various pollinators, and understand their importance. Raising butterflies will allow all of our first graders to experience a life cycle up close, and participate in their release into the garden. Our first graders will have a hands-on opportunity to care for living things, interact and work together to create a place in the community garden to call their own.
