The Behavior Coaching Team provides behavior supports to students, teachers, and administration. Working as a team, we seek ways to motivate the student to be successful in their academic setting. Student success is based on more than academics. Students must feel a sense of belonging and to be invested in their learning environment. Covid-19 has caused isolation and at times chaos. From day to day, students are expected to be flexible and adjust with little to no warning. The Behavior Coaching Team is working hand in hand with teachers, students, and parents to ensure every student has the necessary tools to be successful. The money would be used to purchase organizational items such as binders, mechanical pencils, post-it notes, highlighters, and storage containers for supplies. Fidget items will also be purchased to help the students maintain attention in the class setting as a replacement for loud, disruptive, and repetitive noises. Sand timers are a quiet tool for self management and monitoring. The laminator and sheets will be used to make visual reminders/ prompts, and other communication tools for students. Many times the students in my caseload require reinforcement at more intense and frequent intervals which puts a strain on the schools systems. Items such a candy, chips, and other snack items will be used in the school motivational systems as well as some for teachers to use in the whole class environment for participation and on task behaviors. This will help ensure the students receive reinforcement at a level to change behaviors. Students have shown to be motivated by stakeboard/ water bottle stickers, Rubix Cubes, and gift cards, which will be provided by teachers or as part of the school motivational systems.
