These materials will help with a variety of exploration and learning opportunities within class.
The Skeleton and human torso will be used in class to help visual learners identify body systems and organs as learned in 7th grade science.
The grow lights will be added to my classroom greenhouse as we plan on creating individual terrariums while students learn about how organisms interact within an ecosystem.
The headphones and zipper bags will be used as a class set for students to be able to move at an individual pace throughout some instruction when they are working on their own.
The clipboards will be a class set that students will use when instruction takes students outdoors. Specifically when my 8th grade students make observations on ecological concepts, and when my 7th graders will be outside gathering information for geology or physics.
The card stock and construction paper will be used for students to create final versions of various projects in class. Some of these projects include creating posters on natural resources in 8th grade, or posters of organelles in 7th grade.
In both 7th and 8th grade, students will be learning about physics and gaining an understanding of force or energy. In doing so one of the projects I would like for students to do is create a track to test the concepts they are learning and rolling various different weights of balls down the tracks. When used in combination with some of the tennis balls I already have, the track, lacrosse balls, and plastic baseballs, will help students experiment with force and energy.
Overall these materials will help my students to gain a more enriching learning experience.
