My students are lacking the foundational skills in phonemic awareness, phonics, sight words, and comprehension. The materials I purchased will help the students practice those skills and apply them to reading. We have great reading programs at my school, but I seem to lack enough reading materials so they apply what skills we've learned. For example, when we are working on silent e, long vowel words, I usually have three stories to help the students apply what they've learned, but I think getting the leveled readers will give them more of a variety and give them a chance to choose what they want to read. That will motivate them to want to read more.
