I would like to be able to provide equipment and toys to families that will facilitate gross motor development through play. I would bring these toys into the home to demonstrate different ways to work on climbing, balance and problem solving skills. I will be able to leave the toy so the family can practice with the student every day. I will work on motor skills from early mobility of the infant stage to upper level balance skills of the toddler stage. I will use the climbing blocks to teach students how to roll, crawl, sit and transition between positions. I will use the bikes, stepping stones and uneven surfaces of the blocks to work on standing, balance skills and independent walking. My students and families will learn that motor skills develop through play.
