I am requesting this mobile easel to assist in meeting the needs of my students who require additional support and intervention. The easel would allow me to work with students in small groups because I could transport the easel to the designated space within my classroom and provide instruction to the students who need it most. Usually after a lesson, students are assessed and grouped into three categories: Met, Approaching, and Not Met. Students who have met the criteria for the lesson are ready to continue with content. Students who are approaching have a general idea but may need minimal assistance in correcting a minor error or mistake. Students who are in the not met area are the students who I am referring to as it relates to the easel. These are the students who I would pull back for further intervention. The easel would provide the students and me with a solid platform to re-introduce a lesson and complete activities, without having to disrupt or slow the pace for the other students who already grasp the content.
