In order to meet the standards set by the State of Tennessee for Criminal Justice II these items are needed for the classroom. The students need to learn certain self defense tactics which can only be taught with the use of these pads. It is almost impossible to teach this skill without having the ability to hit something. These pads would provide a safe method to teach the students. In using these pads during the practical the students will be able to safely strike the pad insuring the proper technique is used and while repetition helps to develop the skill. One of the most critical tools in the law enforcement tool belt is being able to use your baton correctly and the students would learn these techniques which would prepare them for the police academy. Our students are already being placed in the criminal justice filed through Work Based Learning and these would only provide them more skills to be used on the job.
