Many of my students have struggled with motivation and to engage in class this year. Materials like the dry erase pockets and game show buzzers will help my students engage in class and give them a variety of ways to respond to learning tasks. One of the most successful ways to help my students learn is by modeling for them and thinking out loud. The document camera will help me make the writing process more visible for my students, which is especially important given the fact that writing is such a struggle for my classes this year. My students also need the opportunity to show more creativity in their learning. Tactile learning provided through more artistic activities will help them express their learning in different ways, and help them engage in the texts we read in a way that requires higher-level thinking skills.
