Virtual kindergarten students are missing out on hands-on learning experiences. One of those experiences is being able to interact with physical books. Kindergarten curriculum includes book knowledge skills like identifying the cover, knowing how to turn pages and following the text on a page. Students have a difficult time learning to engage with a physical book when their learning is in a virtual setting. Book ownership will provide an opportunity for them to develop these skills. My kinder kids need physical copies of appropriate age level books to engage with at home. They need to hold a book, find the title, turn the pages and enjoy the experience they would have in a brick and mortar class library.
