Last year, the former principal chose to get rid of the school library. The closest public library is too far to walk to. All the 1st - 5th grade students come through my classroom for reading. Since there is no library, I let them borrow my books, one at a time. They are very good about returning them, but have been begging for some fresh books. They want to read! But they want books they are interested in. Our school occasionally gets donated books, but never what they are asking for. These are the books they have requested I add to my classroom library so they can borrow them and take them home to enjoy!
