When students see themselves in literature, it helps them develop a sense of belonging. Adding these new texts will enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students turn to daily and really enjoy. This list of diverse books has been chosen with my specific special needs students in mind. Because of this project, students will be able to choose books they're interested in and see themselves on the pages. This, in turn, will help them see themselves as the powerful part of society they are.
