Students who are severely disabled struggle in discovering they have choices in their environment. Providing them with tools that react to their movements not only gives them visual stimulation but offers them control over how and when they interact with those tools. By providing these students with cause/effect tools, we have the opportunity to help them explore their world, and find their motivation to grow and develop to their best potential. Using these color-changing light center and light table within their classroom will augment their other curricula, so we have the potential to see growth in multiple areas.
