In art class, we are learning many techniques as we visit places in the world! We enjoyed learning about India, it's design motifs, cultures, animals, climate and geography. We made mandalas that were symmetrical by etching into foam plates, then adding color with washable markers. Next, paper was brushed with water and we printed our mandalas! We created our own lamps (diahs) from clay, added design by finding things that left impressions, and painted them. Scandinavia was exciting as we created Tomtens that we learned about, as well as Dala horses! Presently, we are learning about Canada and the Arctic, and it is so exciting!
