My students struggle to express themselves. Using multiple forms of art has helped my class show their true colors. It has been a fantastic outlet for students to let out the stresses they have been facing during the pandemic. Students have found so much joy in exploring different art mediums. Using Colors of the World supplies will allow my students to accurately represent themselves and others in their art. It will help us to discuss our diverse qualities. We integrate art into every subject, so having a variety of supplies will help students not only express their learning, but also teach them the beauty of these mediums. There are big learning gaps from COVID-19, so by being able to use art in our learning, we will be able to close these gaps in an engaging way. Because of the different factors of the pandemic, my students have quite a few gaps in their math knowledge. Third grade is a crucial year in these subjects. In math, they are being introduced to important concepts such as multiplication, division, area, and time to the nearest minute. They need hands-on manipulatives to visualize the concepts. Many students struggle to understand math if they cannot use pictures or manipulatives. There is a huge benefit to using manipulatives in all areas of math.
