Students come to school for a variety of reasons; I feel these past few years have highlighted the need for my classroom to become a place of refuge and learning. My school is a Title One school. I have several special education and English as a second language students, other students have unique home circumstances which make learning challenging. I want my classroom to be a welcoming place where students can find engaging and interesting activities to promote their education. Through the course of an academic year, these students become my children. It is my greatest desire to see them succeed. Many of my students are low in reading due to the Covid pandemic. I have requested Phonemic Awareness books to help them fill the wholes that are very evident in their learning. Covid has been a detriment to my students and their learning. I am looking forward to having the necessary books that will help with the decoding process for my students.
