Yes! The stories in these wonderful books will help my students be able to relate to others facing challenges. Each of the main characters in the books I've chosen have significant challenges to overcome, and my students will see that they too can overcome the challenges they face. I believe that students remember stories best, and they can apply these stories over and over as they encounter life's challenges. Academically, I find a direct correlation between wide reading and true learning. The more connections students are able to make to the real world, the better!
