I feel that Geography is a subject that should be as relatable to students as possible. I am planning to do this with my students through the use of this Virtual Reality device. The Oculus will be used to let students experience real life places through Virtual Reality. I cannot wait to send my students on a journey with this device. This will be used as a reward and to explore specific places as we study the regions of the world. I also think it is important to incorporate art and creativity in learning. I utilize colored pencils often in my classroom and feel it is important to provide those for my classroom. Getting maps in the hands of my students is also very important to me. My current classroom maps are very outdated. I will use the atlases often when teaching mapping skills and showing the physical and political features of regions around the world.
