At the C.V. C. we focus on helping students become the most independent and functional learners that they possibly can be. We base our school activities on helping students learn these functional activities like using money, how to behave in public settings, asking for help, applying to jobs, and so much more. At the CVC the mornings are dedicated to academics. We split the students up based on academic skill and they rotate through each teacher learning core academic skills. We dedicate the afternoon portion of the day on social activities and functional life skills lessons.
By donating to the CV Center project, you will be helping these students be more independent in the academic portion of their day. The sensory seating options that would be donated help students with disabilities attend teacher led activities for much longer periods of time, because their sensory needs are being met. It would lead to our students being less distracted and more focused on the academic tasks at hand.
