We are an inquiry based school which means we have a lot of hands on lessons. This requires a large amount of manipulatives, supplies and tools to encourage students creative problem solving skills. Organization frees minds to think creatively. The 4- door storage cabinets will be an amazing addition to our classroom to provide a safe place to organize materials. This will allow students to focus on their ideas, instead of being distracted trying to find materials. With all the chaos in the world from this global pandemic, students need a safe and organized area to help with their social and emotional health. The standing desk is an amazing resource that encourages physical activity while still engaging in learning. This would benefit some of our more active students who will learn better with the option to engage their bodies. Affirmation Chips would be used as positive reinforcements for our amazing students. It has been shown that when you teach and enforce positive affirmations in children it builds self-esteem, self-confidence, and encourages positive changes in their lives. These chips would provide a way for us to continue to encourage emotional growth in our students. The clay and tools would provide a much-needed hands-on resource in both science and social studies! When you add a manipulative to your lesson it enables students to explore concepts at a more concrete level of understanding.
