As I teach in classrooms, and communicate with students in small groups I find that my students have a desire to develop strong friendships, but sometimes lack the skills needed for building stronger relationships. Due to the isolation of COVID, and the uncertainty and worry it has placed upon my students, there is an increased need to fill gaps in learning important life skills such as problem solving, communicating, empathy, and integrity. This project will provide students with literature they can read that can help support growth in social emotional learning. Students can choose books that relate to their needs and help them grow in areas of greatest need.
