I mostly chose books books that will stay in my classroom. I selected books that will be of high interest to many of my students who have low language and may not have access to many books at home. I will be using many of these books to draw language from my students to help them make personal connections and peak enough interest to respond in writing or signed expression. My students need books that have lots of pictures and fewer words to help elicit language and make personal connections. Many of my students have autism and have unique sensory needs. Having a variety of sensory tools, including fidgets, would be helpful for my students when they need unique sensory input. I have also wanted try out a ball chair, with a back, with several of my students, to see if it helps with focus and attention in class.
