I wanted some hands-on STEM equipment in my classroom, and so did my students. We've been learning about engineering, and I've told them about bridges, and they wanted to investigate more, We've also talked about erosion and weathering, and they wanted to see it in action for themselves. Finally, Utah is a great place to experience the seasons, but more than just using our senses, we wanted to record the changes, and collect data that we can look at and experience over time. For those reasons, I wanted some Legos to make models and try lode bearing experiments with them. I wanted erosion tables so they could see and cause the effects of weathering and erosion. And, I wanted the weather station so we could record the changes and see the data for ourselves.
