I would like to replace and update some of the books in our leveled library. These books are used by our teachers for reading groups. I feel that if we had some newer high interest books the students would get excited about reading. They would be excited to go to reading groups and have discussions about the books and want to read. The books in our leveled library are out of date and falling apart. The students get discouraged before they even give the book a try. They judge a book by its cover and wont even open it. Often they decide they don't like the book before they even begin reading. Our teachers are frustrated also because they can't find something of interest to their students.
