Students will meet in literature circles to read and discuss the titles donated. At home, students can join as well through a Google meet. Great literature allows students to not only improve reading and comprehension skills, but allows them to learn from and empathize with the characters in a way that may be impossible in real life. It allows them to explore themes, authors, and character's motivations. Having a shared experience, through a book, connects students to each other in a way that again, may not be possible any other way. It gives them a point of reference to start and maintain substantive dialogue.
