Students not only need, they deserve more art! Working in a Title One school, can be discouraging. Several of my students did not attend preschool and/or kindergarten and they lack several components needed to be fluent readers and writers. Art is a great way for them to express their knowledge. Additionally, growing up in poverty attracts a unique set of struggles. These items will give my students a sense of ownership and responsibility over their personal supplies. This will help build their self esteem and give them pride over their accomplishments.

About my class
