At our school, the library still uses the card system for checking out books. This increases how much time I am tied to my desk. I would love to be able to help each student find a book they will enjoy. Upgrading to an electronic checkout will help me save time with circulation and processing each new book. This will allow me to update our library more easily when new books arrive, and for students to locate books quicker. A secondary computer will be used for students to browse through a computer catalog for books. I would also like to set up a bookmark making station to let my students have some creative time after checking out a book. We have made bookmarks together in the past and they always ask if we can do this or that.
