For my Agricultural Biology students, there are problems with plant and animal diseases as well as feed and soil nutritional issues. A microscope would help the students analyze these problems to improve their own production agriculture. Comparison and Analysis are vital in student learning and hands-on application solidifies understanding. In a laboratory setting, my students will view slides with healthy tissue. I would have students gather samples at home and then the students would compare the healthy and unhealthy tissues. We would then determine what bacteria or virus was the problem and determine a treatment.
