My students love labs and experiments we do in our science class. But on many occasions we don't have enough materials for everyone to conduct the experiments or we don't have the right equipment. Having these items will help with multiple units through the year because a lot of these items can be used to teach different strands of the core. This will also provide enough materials so more students can participate in the labs. This will create a more enriching experience for my students throughout the year. Thank You Specific Lessons: Bike Pump - Used to create clouds in a bottle for the Water Cycle unit. Solar System Model - Used to for our Moon Phases, Eclipse and Solar System Unit. Bunsen burners - Used to demonstration thermal energy transfer through the process of conduction, convection and radiation. I use the burners to heat up different materials to show the transfer of heat through different methods. Microscope - We go through a atoms and molecules labs. Since we can't afford to purchase a microscope of all the students. This microscope will allow us to be able to view matter at a molecular label as a classroom. I'll be able to project different elements on my screen so all the students can see. hot plates - We go through a States of Matter lesson where we take ice and melt it through different states of matter. This would give us enough hot plates for each table group as a hands on lab. We can also use this as part of our thermal energy lab and convection lab. Digital Thermometers- Greenhouse Effective Lab...track temp for increase greenhouses gases we trap in Mason Jars.
