Students are not able to learn when they are in an escalated emotional state. These materials will be used to help students calm down, deescalate, and be able to communicate their problems effectively. Students will be able to use the tools in a quiet location to regulate emotions. Once their emotions are regulated they will be able to discuss what is bothering them and we can solve problems together so they can return to learning in a positive, regulated, calm state. These books and tools will help students improve social skills and social emotional awareness helping them be successful in the classroom. When they are calm and regulated, they are ready to learn.

About my class
