Learning an instrument has been proven to reduce stress and to extend the mind's executive function abilities. The joy that playing an instrument brings cannot be overstated. Students who study musical instruments often do better in Math, ELA and other subjects. The ukulele is relatively easy to learn and can inspire a student to be a lifelong learner of music! Within six months, the students can expect to be able to play chords and basic songs fluently and easily, provided they practice and participate in class. Think of the enrichment this will bring to the students' studies as well as their personal lives!
