Attending school during a pandemic has been hard on all students. Some of my students struggle with increased stress and anxiety. This project will equip my classroom with furniture that will help my room flow smoothly while allowing students to learn in ways that fit their individual needs. Flexible seating options - yoga balls and portable lap desks - and chair bands support students’ natural need for movement and comfort while learning. The selected bookshelves will allow for better organization of classroom materials and easier access to supplies students need throughout the class, further supporting students’ individual needs. Feeling comfortable while engaged in learning is essential to being successful. I have seen how offering options positively affects students and sets them up for success.
