These books are to help students not only gain the love of reading, but to also learn valuable lessons. Each book was carefully picked to help students develop their growth mindset and learn different characteristic traits such as kindness, teamwork, gratitude, bravery, and much more! This ties in with our positivity project lessons we are doing where we spend each week discussing a different characteristic trait. I also added a couple holiday books for the kiddos to read to spread some holiday cheer! Once a book is read in the classroom, a student can take it home to read and check it out for a week. I also wanted students to gain a love of reading by being able to be comfortable in the classroom. Every student has different ways of learning and many of them can't focus when they are in their chairs all day, especially with my student who has ADHD. Because of this, I wanted to build a library area and have flexible seating in the classroom. I included the chairs for that reason. This project will help them gather a deeper love of reading and learning!
