Play and exploration play a big part in the daily routine of my classroom. Being a preschool classroom, we have purposeful play everyday where my students are provided the opportunity to play with toys and explore together. Toys get old and run down, making them not as useful during play. That is the current situation in my classroom. Many toys are run down and are needing to be replaced. This project will allow me to supply my students with new toys and materials to create better learning environment. I have chosen puzzles and building manipulatives to help my students with problem solving and collaboration skills. They will be able to use these materials both independently and in groups with peers, making them versatile. The dress up's will allow students to role play together and broaden their imaginations. Our art supplies are needing to be replaced and the water colors and dot painters will give them a fresh opportunity to create and paint in my classroom. Each of these items will contribute to rich and purposeful play environment in my classroom which will be a great benefit to my students. Many aspects of learning can and will be addressed with these materials if provided to my classroom.
