Students will use the items requested to encourage verbal interaction while they practice their communication-based goals. The noun, verb, and sequencing cards will target students struggling with Language based difficulties and the Voice amplifier, headset and Articulation Drill book will assist my students with severe articulation difficulties. My wish for my students is that the time we spend listening, learning and communicating with each other will help them with their social-emotional well being as they heal from the impact of Covid-19. I will use the games, toys and puzzles as conversation starters. Play Therapy creates the perfect opportunity to address student goals. It encourages verbal responses, taking turns, making social connections, and, in some cases, forming new friendships. I appreciate the generous opportunity the Utah State Board of Education is giving and I hope that my speech therapy project will be considered for funding.
