Often when students are pulled to work in a group with a teacher, there is a negative connotation attached to it. They are the students who need extra help, a change of scenery, and need to be close to teacher. Many times these are the students with a much shorter attention span. This will allow the students to let some of their wiggles out while still remaining engaged and on task. Students will be more excited to come back to my table and work with me in a small group setting.
