Students are constantly surrounded with the phrases: COVID-19, online learning, zoom etc. This can get redundant and it can be hard for students to learn to their full capacity when they are only sitting in front of a screen. I want to help my students have a more hands-on experience in the classroom with more art projects that relate to our curriculum as well as a collection of books to choose to read! This can be with both art, social studies, and even language arts. I love being able to give my students the opportunity to thrive by producing their own work based off of what they have learned! In social studies, we are learning about ancient civilizations, being able to carve letters into clay like was done in Mesopotamia or paint Chinese Characters will give my students a more personalized learning experience. Reading can also be a challenge for many students because they can't find good books or good recommendations that they would love. By creating a well rounded library in my classroom will give my students the opportunity to dive into a good book, improve their reading skills and use their imagination! Though technology is a blessing and something well used, it is always good to be able to hold a physical book and recognize what good it is doing for your brain!
