I think this project will help students adjust to being in a classroom setting. My current group of students hasn't ever had a traditional school year. During their first grade experience, they were moved to online learning after March. Last year they were masked and severely limited in what they could do in school. This year, they are back into a traditional classroom setting without having had any previous experience in this setting. Because of COVID-19, my students have been having a hard time focussing while sitting at their desks. They have been learning at home and in different places so long that they are struggling to be in one place for so long. Having chairs that provide them some flexibility and movement helps them focus and increases engagement. I have a small amount of flexible seating in my room now and students really thrive when they are able to use it.
