My project will allow me to add more visuals to increase communication. Once I print, cut, and laminate them, students will make use of them in several areas of the classroom repeatedly. Students will see a list of visually presented steps,in color, to tell them how to complete a language arts assignment. For example, it may say, "Circle all the capital letters "red". With the steps presented visually, it will enable them to know what needs to be done with out them having to read the directions. A choice board with colorful pictures, will allow my students to communicate their wants and needs to others around them. My students can hand a picture to another peer to ask to play soccer with them even if can't speak. The pictures can go home as well. It will help them communicate with members of their family. Using visuals fosters independence, when they can understand and communicate with others in the world around them.
