I use the whiteboard daily to write the agenda for the math lesson. I have the students talk me through the process of solving an equation and I write what they say so they can keep track. I write examples on the board and add clarifying pictures and definitions. The students come up with their own definitions and I write the summary. I try to regularly do hands-on projects in groups to help the students grasp the mathematical concepts, including probability and angles. The whiteboard helps me to demonstrate what I want the students to do in their groups. The hands-on manipulatives will help them to visualize the geometric shapes we will be using for proofs and trigonometry.
