Students who do not have quality instruments at home have been our most impacted by the pandemic because their instrument is not assisting learning as much as it could. Poor quality equipment can make it very difficult to impossible to make a good sound with the right amount of effort. This makes it more difficult for them to enjoy the difficult process of learning to play an instrument and as a result can hurt their social-emotional wellness. On the other side of that students who have access to quality equipment will be positively impacted because they will be able to reasonably put in the right amount of effort to achieve a good result on their instrument. This will improve their social-emotional learning because they will be able to improve along with their peers.
